Yes, we’re committed to the promise that you only pay if you are happy with our work.

To achieve this in a way that reduces the risk to both parties (you and us), we have broken each package into key milestones. We start with a small deposit to secure your place and to get the ball rolling. This deposit is fully refundable if you aren’t happy with our work at the first milestone and no longer wish to work with us.

From then on, we will only request the next payment instalment if you are happy with our work at each milestone in the project. If you aren’t satisfied, we will not request any further payment from you, and we will hand over all work completed at the previous milestone.

We require a small deposit for each project for the following reasons:

  1. Our Commitment to our Customers – We limit the number of new customers we take on at any one time so that we can devote the necessary time and attention to each project and deliver the highest quality service. We secure a deposit to ensure that those spots only go to customers who are serious about working with us.
  2. Client Investment – Research shows that customers who invest financially in a project are more likely to be invested in its success. So, they’re more likely to provide timely feedback and necessary input, leading to better project outcomes.
  3. Minimises Non-Payment Risk – We’re so confident we can deliver quality work that you will love that we are happy to risk not getting paid for our work if you aren’t satisfied. However, producing such high-quality work takes time that we can’t afford to spend on customers who never intend to pay. A small deposit, even a fully refundable one, provides enough psychological commitment from potential customers to help mitigate this risk.

We don’t place a numerical limit on the amount of revision we offer our customers. We want you to be happy with our work, so we are committed to making the necessary changes to provide you with this result.

That being said, we must also ensure our business is economically viable. Therefore, if the number of revisions becomes excessive, we will be open and honest in communicating with our customers and work with them to find a suitable solution. If, for some reason, we don’t see a way of rectifying any issue in a way that is beneficial to both parties, then we will unfortunately have to cease working on the project.

Rest assured, our commitment to you is that you won’t pay for work that doesn’t meet your expectations. This means no additional charges will be requested from you. If we haven’t reached the first project milestone, we’ll also refund your deposit, ensuring you’re not financially burdened for unsatisfactory work.

Quality design work is time-intensive, but customers have understandable limits on how much they can afford to pay. This leaves us with two options:

  1. Lower the quality of our work to increase production speed and allow for cheaper pricing.
  2. Keep price proportional to the necessary work, and find ways to add as much genuine value as possible to each package without drastically increasing our workload.

Lowering the quality of our work is a complete non-starter for us, so option one is off the table. Luckily, option two provided us with many opportunities to price our work fairly and to provide our customers with as much value as possible.

The value we place on each feature in our packs is based on how long it would take us to complete that work individually. However, design can be a very front-heavy system. It takes a lot of work and effort to start the process, but once you are up and running and have assets created (like a book cover), you can reuse those assets in new ways to create something new much quicker.

For example, it takes at least 3-days to design a quality book cover to a high standard, but it takes only a fraction of that time to reformat that cover for all the additional formats needed for each market. We can use those covers as the core graphical asset on advertising materials, reducing the time necessary to create those adverts. We can apply those covers to 3D models we have already generated, allowing us to quickly create 3D artwork for you to use in promotional materials. And so on.

This small amount of extra work for us provides massive value for our customers as these are assets that will only improve your ability to better sell your books and yourself as an author, but you wouldn’t have had access to otherwise.

We can also take advantage of economies of scale in our web offerings. By purchasing developer licences for services/plugins for our websites, we can bundle that service/plugin with every website we create. For example, we might pay $249 per year for unlimited licences to a plugin that would cost an individual $49 per year. The more websites we manage, the cheaper that individual cost for each website becomes, while we still offer the same value.

These methods allow us to price our work fairly and massively over-deliver value to our customers.

The way we see it, that’s a win for everyone involved.
